Aileen White

Aileen White, Synthetic Chemistry Team Leader at Biosynth, joined the group in 2021. She drives advancements in the large-scale production of complex carbohydrate and phosphoramidite targets in the Compton site. Prior to joining Biosynth, Aileen was involved in the development and GMP manufacture of therapeutic carbohydrates for Phase 1/Phase 2 clinical trials. She obtained her PhD in Chemistry degree from the University of Missouri – St Louis, under the supervision of Prof. Alexei Demchenko. Before joining the chemical manufacturing industry, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, MD, USA) and then at the Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) developing glycoconjugate vaccine models for Cholera and Shigellosis, respectively.
